Immerse yourself in the world of Khalil Gibran

“Khalil Gibran – The Immersive Experience of Love” transforms a hall of Brussels Expo into a large luminous canvas: his paintings are projected in 360°, his poems are told in voice-over, the music envelops the entire room.

We cross several immersive spaces inspired by his favorite themes – love, truth, freedom, intimacy. The colours, sounds and even olfactory atmospheres change over the course of the journey: the experience is more like an inner journey than a “classic exhibition”.

Khalil Gibran in 4 points

  1. Art and poetry in 360° : paintings by Gibran projected on the walls, the floor and sometimes the ceiling, as if we were entering his paintings.
  2. Poems told in voice-over : texts and thoughts by the author carried by a gentle narration, against a background of original music.
  3. Thematic tour : rooms on love, truth, the links between beings, with atmospheres that evolve (seasons, lights, sounds, scents).
  4. Reasonable duration : about 35-45 minutes to visit – long enough to immerse yourself, short enough to keep everyone attentive.

Why we love it

  • A very calm immersion : light, voice and music create a soothing atmosphere, perfect for a moment out of time.
  • An accessible way to discover Gibran : even without knowing the author or understanding everything about the texts, we let ourselves be carried away by the images.
  • An ideal parent/teen outing: it’s contemplative, Instagrammable, and it makes you want to talk about love, freedom, life choices.
  • A practical spot : at Hall 2 – Brussels Expo, a stone’s throw from the Atomium and Mini-Europe – perfect for combining several activities over a day.

The team’s opinion

Here, we are not in an exhibition with labels to read: everything happens in the light, the sound and the words that envelop you.

We move at our own pace, we stop when a sentence or an image touches us. Children who are a little older will especially remember the colors and atmospheres; Teenagers and adults, on the other hand, connect more to the message about love, freedom, the passage from the shadows to the light.

Practical information

  • AGE : Open to all (no minimum age). We recommend especially from 10 years old to follow the poetic and introspective dimension.
  • DATES / TIMES : From10 am to 7 pm (slots to be chosen at the time of booking).
  • DURATION : Tour of approximately 35 to 45 minutes.
  • LANGUAGE : Mainly visual and musical content, with poems narrated in voice-over. Even if we don’t understand everything, we enjoy the images and the atmosphere.
  • ADDRESS : Hall 2 – Brussels Expo Place de Belgique 1, 1020 Brussels (Laeken).
  • ACCESSIBILITY : accessible to people with reduced mobility (adapted entrances and lifts, path on the ground).

Questions

– Is it suitable for children?

Yes: the experience is officially open to all ages. In practice, it speaks mainly to children from the age of 9–10, who can stay focused for 40 minutes and let themselves be touched by the images and music

– Do you have to know Khalil Gibran before coming?

Not at all. The voice-over and the images take up the main stages of the story, without jargon. You can come completely “virgin” and let yourself be carried away.

“Do we stand all the way?”

There are spaces to sit and rest during the experience. You can alternate slow walking, pauses, contemplation, which helps with children or tired people.

– Can we take photos or film?

Yes, the organizers allow photos and videos without flash, so as not to disturb other visitors and not to alter the projections.
