An ideal museum with pre-teens and teens

Urban art at a child’s level

Immerse yourself in the powerful world of contemporary street art at the Banksy Museum – this permanent museum brings together more than 130 works by the British master – life-size reproductions of iconic frescoes and never-before-seen creations by international street artists.

Through an immersive and playful journey, discover its committed messages, its visual humor and its art that is both popular and anti-establishment, without even having to walk the streets of the world. An accessible, surprising and anecdote-rich cultural experience, ideal for all the curious.

Why do children love it?

  • Even without knowing Banksy, they are captivated by the colours, the narrative scenes, the references to Tintin or video games: art becomes playful and visual.
  • The life-size reproductions allow you to really feel “in” the work, and you come out with questions, laughter… and often full of ideas for their own homemade collages.

Banksy museum in 4 points

  1. More than 130 emblematic works : Life-size representations of frescoes that sometimes disappeared in the street, created or reproduced by street artists, brought together in one place
  2. Submerged industrial décor : Installed in a former textile factory on rue de Laeken (~1000 m² on two levels), the space recreates an urban atmosphere conducive to the artist’s anti-establishment spirit
  3. Engaged and provocative art : Each work is accompanied by explanatory texts that highlight Banksy’s political and social messages, at the crossroads of art and contemporary commentary
  4. Visit at your own pace : Without a mandatory guide, you can stroll freely on both levels, take your time to think, take photos and enjoy the Zen place without dense crowds.

The team’s opinion

We really liked the raw and immersive atmosphere of the place, which fits perfectly with Banksy’s universe. It’s visual, engaged and accessible at the same time, even for those who don’t know street art well.

The children loved walking between the walls full of graffiti, recognizing well-known characters and posing in front of the works. It’s an original exhibition, quick to visit, which makes you think… while making you want to draw on the walls when you get home!
