Plazey, the free festival of the Parc Élisabeth
From Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August 2026, Plazey returns to Elisabeth Park in Koekelberg for three days of open-air celebration. Music, shows, workshops, games, sports, art installations and children’s entertainment make up a particularly eclectic programme. And above all, everything is free.
Created in 1992, Plazey is above all a large neighbourhood festival imagined with residents, artists and local associations. The festival is organised by De Platoo and De Zeyp, joined since 2026 by the VK. More than a hundred volunteers participate in the event each year.
For families, the weekend is particularly interesting with a mini funfair made of recycled materials, a huge marble run, a Ninja course, construction games, creative workshops, sports, chess and puppet theatre.

Friday, August 28
Zwerfsteen – continuous
Play and meeting structures have been imagined with the inhabitants of the neighbourhood, the poet Alex Deforce and GC De Platoo. Children can freely invest them to play, climb, experiment and meet others.
This installation is part of Playcation 2026.
Julo’s Jukebox – from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. : An intergenerational musical event based on old Brussels 45s. We listen, we rummage through the records and above all, we dance. The activity has been designed to introduce this music to young and old alike.
Saturday, August 29
The Funfair
From 3 p.m. to 6p.m.: STRUK sets up what it presents as the smallest funfair in Brussels : duck fishing, claw cranes and bumper cars are made entirely of wood, metal and recycled materials.
A funfair at a child’s level, playful and frankly original.
Sport for young and old
From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. : Families can try out different activities: spikeball, air badminton, street tennis, football and a fun course.
The activities are accessible to young and old alike and offered in collaboration with the VGC Sports Department.
Zwerfsteen
The participatory play structures also remain accessible continuously during the day.
Sunday 30 August: the big day for families
The largest marble run in Brussels
- From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. : Children are invited to participate in the construction of a huge marble run. Turns, tunnels, slopes: they experiment with different configurations and work together to find ways to get the marbles to the end of the course.
- The activity is offered with Studio Ludiek as part of Playcation 2026.
Maderas
- From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. : Wooden blocks become the starting point for a life-size creation. Children can build alone or with others and let their imagination run wild.
- The activity is proposed with Amadeo Kollectif.
Ninja Playground
- From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. : An obstacle course invites children to climb, climb, hang and work on their balance. The idea is also to help each other to succeed in overcoming the various challenges together.
Introduction to chess
- From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. : Beginners can learn the basics of the game while those who already know the rules can simply settle in to play a game of chess in the park.
- The activity is open to all, with or without experience.
Sport for young and old
- From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. : Spikeball, air badminton, street tennis, football and a fun course: several activities allow children and adults alike to move and try out different sports throughout the afternoon.
FroeFroe Theatre – Pretpakket 2.0
- From 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. – recommended from 4 to 10 years old : The Antwerp company FroeFroe is setting up a funny funfair combining puppet theatre and offbeat games.
- On the program: poop fishing, elf skittles, unicorn bumper cars and other wacky inventions. A bizarre, funny and imaginative universe, specially designed for 4-10 year olds.
Bookmark workshop
- From 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. : Children make their own personalized bookmark and leave with their creation.
Jewelry Design
- From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. : Bracelets, necklaces and rings: children can imagine and make their own jewelry before leaving with their creations.
Henna
- From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. : A workshop allows you to discover the art of henna and to have a temporary pattern drawn on your hands. The activity is announced for all ages.
Tataki zomé workshop
- From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. : Children discover tataki zomé, a Japanese technique that consists of printing flowers and leaves on fabric or paper by hammering them. An activity that combines nature and creativity.
Music and discoveries for the whole family
Plazey also remains a real music festival. Concerts, choirs, DJ sets and performances follow one another during the three days, with a program ranging from blues to hip-hop, from soul to Gnawa music, through rock, folk and Mediterranean sounds.
An open-air exhibition, Arborescences, also takes over the trees of the Parc Élisabeth on Saturday and Sunday: the principle is simple, one artist, one tree, with works installed in and around the trees of the park.
