Free games and creative activities in the parks of Ixelles

The Museum of Ixelles is moving beyond its walls and into several parks in the municipality during the summer holidays.

With Museum in the Grass, children discover the museum’s collections through creative colouring, riddles, puzzles, board games, a “Who is it? “, twister and various artistic activities.

The activities are free, accessible without registration and offered from Monday to Friday, from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. After a stop at Jadot Park, the travelling museum will join Tenbosch, Albert II and Viaduct parks.

Storytelling readings in Dutch will also be offered with the Bibliotheek Sans Souci in Tenbosch Park and Albert II Park.

A final day will take place on Sunday, August 23, from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., on the occasion of Family Day at the Viaduct Park.

Please note : the activities are cancelled in case of rain.

– Where does Museum in the Grass take place in Ixelles?

The activity does not take place in the building of the Museum of Ixelles. During the summer, the museum goes to meet families in several parks in the municipality: Jadot Park, Tenbosch Park, Albert II Park and Viaduct Park

– Is the activity free?

Yes, all the activities offered as part of the Museum in the open grass are completely free.

– Do I need to book to participate?

No, no registration or reservation is necessary. Families can join the animators freely during the indicated times.

– From what age can children participate?

The activities are offered to the whole family and are particularly suitable for children from 3 to 12 years old. The youngest must remain accompanied by an adult.

– What activities are offered to children?

Depending on the day, children can take part in creative colouring, puzzles, riddles, board games, observation games, twisters or activities inspired by the works kept in the collections of the Museum of Ixelles.

– Do the events take place when it rains?

No. Museum in the open grass takes place outdoors and the activities are cancelled in case of rain. The Museum of Ixelles advises you to check your social networks before travelling when the weather is uncertain
