1. Winter Wonders: the big Christmas market in the city centre

📅 Dates

  • Winter Fun Trail in the city centre: from 28 November 2025 to 1 January 2026.
  • Place De Brouckère extended until January 4, 2026 (ice rink & curling).

Plaisirs d’Hiver is Brussels’ large Christmas market, several times cited as one of the most beautiful in Europe, with around 238 chalets spread throughout the city centre.

It includes:

  • Grand-Place : huge Christmas tree, sound and light show (several times per evening), nativity scene “Les étoffes de la Nativité”. No chalet on the square, only the show.
  • Place de la Bourse, Place de la Monnaie : chalets, bars, entertainment.
  • Place Sainte-Catherine & Vismet (Fish Market): Ferris wheel, merry-go-rounds, numerous gourmet stalls.
  • Place De Brouckère : large ice rink, curling rinks, chalet village and large sheltered terraces.
  • Tour Noire, Rue de la Madeleine, Place Poelaert : chalets, entertainment and mini-village with panoramic views of Brussels.

Practical information

  • 🕒 Horaires
    • Every day from 12 noon to 10 pm (including weekends).
    • December 24th, December 31st and January 4th: closing at 6pm and no sound and light show on the Grand-Place.
  • 🚋 Accès
    • Ideal by metro / tram / bus : Gare Centrale, Bourse, De Brouckère, Sainte-Catherine stations.
    • By train via Brussels-Central Station, a stone’s throw from the Grand-Place.

Family outing idea

  • Ice rink in De Brouckère.
  • Snack and Ferris wheel ride at Vismet.
  • Sound and light show on the Grand-Place in the early evening (rather during the week to avoid the very large crowds).

2. Winter Pop Mini Villages

📅 Dates: 3 weekends in December, each weekend in a different neighborhood.

On the fringes of the large market, Winter Pop sets up small winter villages in several districts: Marolles, Square Ambiorix, Laeken…

There are: caravans, concerts, street shows, children’s activities, associative stands.

  • 🎄 Atmosphere : very local, friendly, perfect with children (and much less crowded than the center).

3. Anderlecht – Christmas market on the Place de la Vaillance

📅 Dates : from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 December 2025.

The Anderlecht Christmas market is held on the Place de la Vaillance and around the collegiate church of Saints-Pierre-et-Guidon.

The town announces between seventy and a hundred chalets, concerts, brass bands, stilt walkers and illuminations.

  • 🎄 Atmosphere : large market in the town, very warm, less touristy than the city centre.

4.Schaerbeek – Christmas market from Os à Moelle

📅 Dates : from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 December 2025.

The Os à Moelle Christmas market is the largest Christmas market in Schaerbeek:

  • Indoor and outdoor designer market,
  • about forty exhibitors,
  • mulled wine, braziers, visit from Santa Claus.
  • 📍 Location : Avenue Émile Max 153, 1030 Schaerbeek.

With children

  • Free entertainment.
  • “Village” atmosphere.
  • Possibility to get warm inside in case of extreme cold or rain.

5. Woluwe-Saint-Pierre – Christmas Stockel Village

📅 Dates : from Tuesday 9 to Sunday 14 December 2025.

Under a large heated tent on the Place Dumon, the Christmas Stockel Village is a real Christmas village: more than 60 exhibitors, gourmet products, decoration, jewellery, toys, cosmetics, workshops, musical entertainment…

  • 🎄 Atmosphere : very family-friendly, protected from the weather, ideal with children or grandparents.

6. Auderghem – Christmas Markets & Village

The municipality of Auderghem organises several Christmas events, including the unmissable Christmas Village in Rouge-Cloître.

Christmas market in Saint-Julien

  • 📅 November 28, 29 and 30, 2025.
  • 📍 Rue Valduc (usual site of the market).
  • 🌲Atmosphere : friendly neighbourhood market, perfect to launch the season.

Christmas Market “Food & Gifts”

  • 📅 December 7, 2025.
  • 📍 Central berm of the Boulevard du Souverain.
  • 🌲 Atmosphere : local craftsmen and producers, light show at the end of the day.

Christmas Village in Rouge-Cloître

  • 📅 December 13 & 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 🎨 Program : more than 50 stands of artists, craftsmen and mini-companies, activities for young and old, Santa Claus in a horse-drawn carriage.
  • 🌲 Setting : in nature, very pleasant even in winter (bring boots if the ground is muddy).

7. Neder-Over-Heembeek – Christmas Market at the Ferme Nos Pilifs

📅 Dates : Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 December 2025, from 10 am to 6 pm.

Every year, the Ferme Nos Pilifs organises a Christmas market in the heart of its integration farm: artisanal products, a forest of organic and sustainable fir trees, giant tartiflette, mulled wine and Christmas decorations.

  • 🌲 Atmosphere : magical setting, opportunity to see animals and support a large social economy enterprise employing people with disabilities

8. Woluwe-Saint-Pierre – Tram Museum Christmas Market

📅 Date : Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Tram Museum organizes its Christmas market in the middle of the historic trams and buses :

  • local craftsmen,
  • Resto-tram, mulled wine, cougnous…
  • 💶 Tarifs :
    • free admission to the museum,
    • Journey by old tram or bus: €5, free for children under 6.

9. Slow Ho Ho – Sustainable Christmas Market (Schaerbeek)

📅 Dates : from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 December 2025.

Organised by Tiroir de Lou, Slow Ho Ho is a sustainable and intimate Christmas market: a dozen Belgian designers, ethical objects, a “hygge” and gourmet atmosphere in a cosy workshop in Schaerbeek.

10. créatif.ve & radically sustainable Christmas BOOM (Ixelles – Usquare)

📅 Dates : from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 December 2025.

The Christmas BOOM is a large market of creative, committed and sustainable craftsmen, organised by the non-profit organisation Fais-le toi-même in UR Square (Ixelles). There are dozens of exhibitors, family entertainment, indoor bar and food trucks.
